Annual General Meeting

Thank you to all who participated at our AGM on Oct 22, 2019. It was another great discussion with ideas that will definitely help this association grow and improve over the next few years.

Once again we were almost able to fill every single position on the committee, compared to a handful of people who have been running the association for the past few years. We are always on the search for more volunteers for the upcoming season though, so feel free to get in touch if you want to contribute!

Thank you once again to all the parents and players for your support and enthusiasm over the past season. A special thank you to the committee members that worked to help run the association while wearing many hats.

Statement from Baseball Ontario

Baseball Ontario has issued a statement to suspend all in-person baseball activities indefinitely until at least April 3, which has afffected our current and upcoming events as follows:

  • Our current houseleague pitching sessions will be cancelled for the next 2 weeks and will be reassessed after April 3. We plan on adding the missed weeks to the end of the initially scheduled end date, but this may change due to future precautionary measures.
  • All future in-person umpire clinics have been cancelled, so our umpire clinic to be held at Carlisle arena is on hold at the moment, as Baseball Ontario introduces a plan to continue sessions online. We will advise as more details become available.
  • Though we are not planning on hosting a coaches clinic, those who have signed up for a clinic in another centre please note that there will be no in-person clinics for the remainder of the season, and Baseball Ontario is looking to introduce online delivery of coaches clinics to achieve certification for the coming season.

At this time, this does not affect our upcoming season, so registration will continue as usual, but our in-person registration will not occur on March 21st due to the closing of Harry Howell and the mandate by Baseball Ontario. For those who planned on attending the in-person registration, online registration is encouraged and cheques can be mailed to the address on our registration page. For those who do not have the ability to register online, please email our registrar ( ), so we can add your registration manually. For those that have specific questions that you had planned to ask at the in-person session regarding general questions regarding WMBA, please refer to our Information or FAQ page. Any specific enquiries not covered on these pages can be directed by the specific topic contained on our Contact Us page.

More information regarding the information provided by Baseball Ontario can be found here or on Baseball Ontario's website. Thank you for your patience regarding these matters and please stay safe and healthy!

Regards,

WMBA

Registration is Now Open

Update: on in-person session scheduled for March 21 is cancelled due to the closure of Harrow Howell arena and the mandate by Baseball Ontario to cancel all in-person activities. At this time, we will not be holding an in-person registration session. Please contact us if any assistance is needed to register manually, otherwise please do not hesitate to register online using Paypal if available or by sending in a cheque noted on our registration page.

Registration for mixed houseleague, girls softball and our rep program is now available on-line as we get ready to take on another great baseball season. Though we encourage our members to register on-line, for those who have the inability or prefer not to use the internet to register, we will also be offering in-person registration on March 21 at Harry Howell Arena from 9am - 2pm (tentative due to the current health concerns). If you have the ability to register on-line but do not want to use our on-line payment system, you can register without paying and drop off your payment at our in-person session. This would be highly appreciated to save our volunteers valuable time and effort. Mailing in a cheque is also always an option and the registration form and mailing address is available under the registration tab on the website. Note that the registration cutoff this year for earlybird fees is April 10, so ensure that you register in time to take advantage. Fees will increase $50 after this date. Registration ends May 31. If you have any questions, including what tentative days each division plays, feel free to browse our FAQ section under our Member Info menu or email us through our Contact Us section.
