Thank you to all who participated at our AGM on Nov. 19th, 2020. Though it was a bit unconventional this year being online, it was another great discussion with ideas that will definitely to help this association try to amend our programs around our current situation with Covid-19.
Once again we were almost able to fill every single position on the committee, compared to a handful of people who have been running the association for the past few years. We would like to announce that we have a new president this year, Chris Simpson, who has been handling our houseleague duties as convenor for the past few years, amongst many other duties along with coaching a Rep team the past couple of seasons. Congratulations, Chris!
Though we weren't able to offer a full program as in years past, we still would like to send a thank you once again to all the parents and players for your support over the past season. A special thank you to the committee members that worked to help run what little baseball we had amongst the restrictions.
Please note below the Committee members that were voted in for the 2021 season:

Wrap-Up Weekend Schedule
It appears that the link to the schedule was incorrect for the last email sent. This has been corrected below. Sorry for the inconveninece.
The houseleague season is winding down and we only have a limited amount of games left before our annual year-end wrap up weekend. Similar to past years, this weekend will feature a one day skills competition for those enrolled in Jr. T-Ball and a weekend long tournament for each division for those participating in Sr. T-Ball through PeeWee. Jr. T-Ball festivities take place on Saturday, September 18th only. All other division's tournaments start on the Friday, September 17th. Please see the attached schedule for houseleague divisions fom Jr. T-Ball to PeeWee.
We will try to notify you of any updated changes to the schedule here, and respective coaches will notify you of any specifics but please ensure to check back before the wrap-up weekend in case any changes have been made.
Update: Please note we have added more team schedules below, and a a few changes to previously scheduled sessions which are noted in bold. Also note that we have decided to make the 8U team a combined 8U/9U team to account for the lack of resources for the 9U year. For those 8U who have intentions to apply but have yet to do so, please fill out the 9U application form.
The modified baseball season is slowly coming to a close, and we are ramping up for tryouts for next year's Waterdown Wolves Rep baseball program. Rep teams are formed with tryout sessions for eligible players rostered with teams playing under the auspices of the Central Ontario Baseball Association (COBA). Play involves games with teams from the surrounding area & tournaments throughout the spring/summer of the upcoming season. For more information about the Rep program, please see our information listed under Rep & Select in our Youth Programs section on the WMBA website.
Although not everything is in place yet, the following early tryout schedule has been announced and we will be releasing times and places for other tryouts in the next little while for teams in divisions that will be fielded. Please check the WMBA website regularly for any sessions that are added or any changes that may be made to the schedule. For those interested in applying to tryout, please fill out the application form for the respective tryout on our Forms page (click here to be redirected to that page). Note that applications are not yet available for teams without an initial tryout schedule; once the initial schedule is confirmed, the form will be made available. We are making it mandatory to apply online before you attend your first tryout. Age qualifications are for end of year 2022 (i.e. 10U indicates 10 or under by Dec. 31, 2022). Note that we have yet to make any decisions on fielding Select teams but will post more information pertaining to those teams once a firm decision has been made.

Note we are still bound by decisions by the city of Hamilton, but things are looking on track for our plan below..
To Our Valued Members,
We know many of you are patiently waiting on an update regarding our plans for baseball going forward. Below is a note from our president Chris Simpson and our tentative plans to proceed with the upcoming season.
The board of Waterdown Minor Baseball Association are working diligently behind the scenes creating a plan that will see baseball return to our community this summer. As it is already May and we are usually into the season by now, we have had to push things back again due to the COVID–19 pandemic and the reopening of Ontario. What we have learned so far is that things can begin on a small scale June 14th while opening up July 5th and July 26th. These dates are estimated and based on the Ontario Government and what stage of reopening we are on those dates. This year will see the season go into August and even September if the City of Hamilton allows the use of fields past Labor Day weekend. Our goal is to have a safe and meaningful baseball season for the players and the families. We will be holding a parent information night in June prior to the start of the season to get everyone prepared for this season.
June 8th 2021 – HL Coaches Meeting (Zoom)
June 14th 2021 – Training Clinics can begin. 10 person limits in place. 11U & 13U Pitching clinics
June 16th 2021 - HL parents information night (Zoom)
July 5th 2021 – HL teams to start full practices
July 26th 2021 – HL Games to begin
All dates are subject to change based on guidance from the Provincial and Municipal Government, Baseball Ontario and COBA (for our rep division). We will update the website for any further details we may uncover and should have more information closer to the June 14th date.
As mentioned above, for anyone with questions, we will be holding an online Zoom meeting for our members. In order to participate in this meeting, we ask that you email
for details on how to join. For the zoom meeting for coaches, you will be contacted directly with the information to join.
With regard to the pitching clinics, more information will follow shortly once we have more firm details in place.
Thank you again for your patience in all of this. Our primary goal to is get the kids out and playing as safely as possible while enjoying a little outdoor activity.
Baseball Ontario has issued an update on various current topics in the minor baseball world including changes with regard to Return to Sport Protocols, information on upcoming NCCP Clinics and Level 3 Superclinics, as well as the Change the Game Research Project. All updates can be viewed here: Baseball Ontario Updates.
